Christmas Eve 2010

We started off Christmas Eve by finally making and decorating our gingerbread houses. My mother sent a gingerbread house mold this year, so I decided to make a house for each of the boys. Asher made his house from a kit I had purchased before my mother sent the mold. He also decorated his the day before, so I don't have any pictures of his. You can see it, though, in the background of Dallin's picture.

This year, for the first time ever, we had friends over for Christmas Eve: Scott, Megan, and Topher Huff. They joined us for fondue and the hand puppet Christmas story.

After they went home, we did a Skype gift exchange with Shayne's family. That made for a VERY late Christmas Eve. The kids LOVE seeing their cousins open the gifts they sent for them. Our family received an amazing gift from Shayne's parents this year. Marilyn painted this for us. It is based on the style of the Kershisnik print we have entitled Father and Son Dancing. Marilyn's painting is fittingly entitled Crazy House. I was speachless, and even cried a little (which is VERY unlike me). We will always cherish it.

Ah, Christmas Eve after Santa came.
